The Silhouette Cameo 4 Pro

The 24″ Silhouette Cameo Pro is the newest Silhouette machine, released November 2020.

The Cameo Pro has the same toolset as the Cameo 4 and Cameo Plus. This allows it to cut a variety of materials including fabric and thicker materials like foam and chipboard. (Up to 3mm max material thickness).

The Pro will cut 24″ x 24″ on a cutting mat, and 24″ x up to 60 feet matless cutting when using the roll feeder. The Cameo Pro can do matless cutting of lined materials (such as rolls of vinyl/HTV/sticker sheets). The Pro can also do Pop-out cutting of paper and cardstock.

This is the only 24″ desktop cutter at this price point (~$500). This also the only 24″ vinyl cutter that is Mac-compatible for under $750.

Silhouette’s other 3 new machines released over the last year are the Portrait 3, which debuted in August 2020,  the 15” wide Cameo Plus which was released in March 2020, and the 12” Cameo 4 that came out in November 2019.

All three of the new Silhouette machines are significant upgrades from their predecessors. The Portrait 3 has a channel under its cutting blade to enable matless pop-out cutting of paper and cardstock, in addition to being able to do matless cutting of rolls of vinyl with the optional roll feeder. The Portrait 3 is capable of up to 60 feet of matless cutting!

The Cameo 4 and Cameo Plus have built-in roll feeders and can also do pop-out cutting on paper and cardstock. Both of these machines have a newly designed dual tool carriage that can apply up to 5000g force when using any of 3 new tools (Rotary Blade, 3mm Kraft Blade, Punch Tool).
